CISNN specific Research
Dr. Shauku focuses on the legal, ethical, and social aspects of the technologies at the heart of the Center’s work. Emergent technologies are often not readily interpretable under existing law, as their social consequences are not yet fully recognized, and their ethical implications not yet fully explored. Dr. Shauku works closely with Dr. Ahmed, Biswas and Pathak in exploring the impacts of the various science and technologies—Clean Energy, Quantum technologies, Catalysis—in the critical spaces of Ethics, Society, Law, and Policy. Dr. Shauku also collaborates with Prof. Carbonara in understanding the impacts of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in these spaces. Lastly, the Center fosters collaboration between Dr. Shauku, Dr. Qian, and Dr. Hunter on the economic viability of technologies that emerge from the Center’s work.
